A Pelikán fagyizó 1999-ben nyitotta meg kapuit Zugló zöldövezeti részén. Az ötletgazda, Oblat Dávid, a tengerentúli vendéglátásban eltöltött több éves tapasztalat után hazaérkezve egy olyan fagylaltozót álmodott meg, ahol természetes alapanyagokból minden nap frissen főzött és a standard kínálaton kívül különleges ízvilágú fagylaltokat élvezhetnek a vendégek.
A kézműves fagylaltozónak hamar híre ment és sikerességét először a törzsvendégek számának gyarapodása mutatta, majd Bodzilla fantázia nevű fagylaltunk 2004-ben az “Év fagylaltja” versenyen aranyérmes díjazásban részesült, ami egyúttal közönségdíjat is nyert és máig is a vendégek kedvence. Másik aranyérmesünk 2004-ben az eper fagylaltunk lett. A 2007-es „Év fagylaltja” versenyen a saját kreációs marcipános narancs fagylaltunk hozta el az aranyérmet.
