“Én 25 éve járok ide de még mindig lenyűgöz a 75 dekás rántott szelet és az egyéb finomságok. Ha valaki igazán jókat akar enni, és nem a Michelin-csillagos, 3 és fél dekás adagokat keresi, amivel csak összekoszolják a tányérokat 50 ezerért, na az jöjjön el egyszer, és próbálja ki. Ha itt valaki meg tud enni egy ültő helyében egy itteni normál adagot, az ember a talpán.”

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited because I saw Anthony Bourdain had when he was in town, so figured it was good. Fun experience, got the house schnitzel and fries, but food taste and quality was pretty disappointing. Sorry fellas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is super delicious, staff is very friendly and the price is unbelievable ! When you buy the wiener schnitzel, witch by the way is more than enough for a family of four, it comes with potatoes, pickles, coleslaw, jalapeno and you can add anything else you want from what they have. The meat is a prime cut. All for roughly 12 euros , if I made the calculations correctly. The prices are in forints but you can pay using euros also.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is one of those hidden gems of the city. If you want a huge meal, and by that I mean HUUUGE, really it's Man Vs. Food territory, you must go here.
The place looks like a run down dump, but don't let that fool you. It's a true old school market eatery, that is all about the food, and not the looks. You'll be standing, or eating your food at the stalls of the market, but this is all part of the experience.
The food is awesome. You can expect over 1 kg schnitzels, that are the size of baby blankets, cordon bleu that's 1.6 kg like on my pictures.
There are no half, or small portions, if you can't eat it however you can ask for a doggie bag, that's actually a bag.
I love this place, and whole heartedly recommend it. If you are there, say hi to István, the owner, who will serve you, and while you wait for your food, offer you his home made sausages with bread.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Almost ridiculous in its portion size and all the better for it. The Anthony Bourdain approved Tin Gundel is the place to go for sheer quantity. Schnitzels the size of hubcaps and a warm welcome to boot. Definitely go for the experience, but stay for the food (which is actually very good). Don’t expect fine dining, but expect to be full. Very full.
