1951 és 1952 között a 71-es főutat és Veszprémet összekötő főutat kezdték megépíteni, ehhez a legközelebbi murvabányát a Lovasi Mackói murvabányát nyitották meg. Innen szállították az útépítéséhez szükséges dolomitot. A murva bányászása során a munkásemberek szokatlanul nagy és érdekes állatcsontokat találtak egy szintén feltűnő színezetű és finomságú, úgynevezett földfesték gödörben.
 Lovas is located in a beautiful environment in the Balaton Uplands between Balatonalmádi and Balatonfüred. This small settlement has forever inscribed itself in bold in the history of mankind. This reputation began in 1952.
Between 1951 and 1952, the construction of the main road 71 and the main road connecting Veszprém began, and the nearest gravel mine, the Lovasi Mackói gravel mine, was opened. From there, the dolomite needed to build the road was transported. During the mining of the gravel, the workers found unusually large and interesting animal bones in a so-called earth paint pit, also of striking color and fineness.
