Rákóczi Restaurant - Rákóczi Restaurant

Visited the place on more occasions, always trying to give it one last try - maybe the waiters had serious mood-swings, a really bad day or something, but turns out they are just rude by default. My last visit was the one when they simply forgot I was there - after taking my order. Walked away, a visit would be a mistake.

Always a great experience. Their stuffed mushrooms are a must when ordering an appetizer and how can you pass up a 300 HUF glass of wine?!

Food is good and waiter very helpful and friendly. Recommend for lunch. Unfortunately we could not order the goulash soup as they were still busy preparing it. Must try though!

The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant in Budapest. I booked a table for 10 people including my closest family, which came to visit me for Easter weekend. When the waiter came to pick up the orders, I asked if it’s possible to have 3-4 bills instead of one. The waiter’s reaction was angry face, throwing few papers on us with a pen and request to write down our names and orders by… ourselves. He made us all feeling very uncomfortable, but we started writing down our orders. The waiter came back after some time and my boyfriend asked extra 5 minutes. The waiter left and wasn’t coming back for much longer. I went after him and I found him smoking cigarette. I told him our orders are ready and he said he would not come back to service our table, because he didn’t like the voice of my boyfriend asking extra 5 minutes and that we should wait for his colleague, as he is not planning to come back… We left this place to spend our money in another restaurant nearby, where we could simply split the bill by paying at the counter and where the waiter was extremely happy to receive us. Nevertheless, I will never forget the embarrassment for the way in which my family was treated on this day in Rákóczi.

Goulash is super good. If you want to try Hungarian food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice and cozy place. Food was good and tasty. Would recommend as my experience was positive. With some remodelling of dining space and restroom facilities this place could be even nicer.

After arriving in Budapest we were looking for a local restaurant to enjoy some traditional Hungarian dishes. We have been to this restaurant multiple times during our stay because the food is consistently delicious, it is frequented by locals, and the staff is friendly and responsive. Such amazingly delicious food!!! Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
