On April 3, 1944, after several flights, the American bombers now fired their bombs over targets in Hungary. The more than 180 four-engine bomber was accompanied by 137 fighter jets. His pilot was a sergeant from Zsámboki with extensive combat experience, who had been involved in air combat on the Eastern Front since July 1941. Me210, flown by Sergeant Dezső Zsámboki and Sergeant Géza Sallós, a radio-shooter, chased the bombers leaving the loosened line south on the Danube line. The lone attacking plane became the target of the defensive hunters in a matter of seconds. The Hungarian pilots were shot down by P-38 Lightning escorts. Messerschmitt Me 210Ca hit the ground not far from the end of Hidegvölgy Street. His staff immediately lost their lives.
