Neve is elárulja, hogy valaha egy római villa állt itt a második században, amelynek maradványait a hozzá tartozó fürdővel a ’40-es években találták meg. A forrás tehát, ennek a fürdőépületnek a vízellátását szolgálta közel kétezer éve. A forrást 2001-ben újította fel. A forrás mellett egy tábla magaslik, „Le a cipőkkel!” felirattal. Alatta a magyarázat: sétáljunk egyet a forrás vízében, ugyanis az ókori rómaiak is tudták, hogy a hideg víznek gyógyító ereje van.
