I. (Szent) István (születési nevén: Vajk, latinul: Sanctus Stephanus) (975 körül – 1038. augusztus 15.) az utolsó magyar fejedelem és az első magyar király. Géza fejedelem és Sarolt fejedelemasszony fia, a keresztény magyar állam megteremtőjeként a magyar történelem egyik legkiemelkedőbb alakja. A katolikus egyház egyházszervezői tevékenysége miatt szentté avatta [4] és Magyarország fővédőszentje lett.

Prince Géza and the son of Princess Sarolt, one of the most prominent figures in Hungarian history as the creator of the Christian Hungarian state. Due to his church organizing activities, the Catholic Church consecrated him [4] and became the patron saint of Hungary.
