Ősszel kell ide eljönni sétálni egyet, fantasztikus hangulata van. Itt nyugszik a zsidó-magyar múlt., főrangok, miniszterek, iparmágnások, művészek, egyetemi tanárok, az ország szellemi éltének színe és virágja. Éppen építik, renoválják, sok munkás is jött-ment benne. De azért megtalálható a magány, az intim pillanatok, akiért idejön az ember. Fontos hely, mindenképpen látni kell! Önállóan is látogatható,de ajánlom a NÖRI által szervezett,vezetett sétákat is! A számos, egyedi, igényes megformálású mauzóleum, családi sírbolt, a hatalmas gránitobeliszkek erdeje nagy hatással volt rànk. Engem a rejtettebb részletek szépsége is elvarázsol. Ilyenek a sűrűn lévő síremlékek között megbújó kicsiny díszkerítések, a kovácsoltvas, öntöttvas, áttört lemezes kerítések a síremlékek előtt, melyeket sokszor észre sem veszünk. A régi mesteremberek kifogyhatatlan fantáziával készìtett alkotásai. Mind egy-egy remekmű. Legtöbbje már hiányos, sérült...de ebben az állapotukban is megállásra késztettek. Fényképeimmel ezekre az "értékekre" szeretném a figyelmet ráirányítani. Örülök, hogy védettként kezelik ezt a temetőt. Ez reményt kelt bennem a további állagromlások megállítására, hogy még sokáig tehessünk történelmi sétàkat ebben a temetőben. The many unique, sophisticated mausoleums, family tombs, and the forest of the huge granite blocks made a big impact on us. I am also enchanted by the beauty of the more hidden details. Such are the small decorative fences hidden among the dense tombs, the wrought-iron, cast-iron, pierced plate fences in front of the tombs, which are often overlooked. Works of old craftsmen made with inexhaustible imagination. Each is a masterpiece. Most of them are already incomplete, damaged ... but even in this condition they were made to stop. With my photos, I want to draw attention to these “values”. I'm glad you're treating this cemetery protected. This gives me hope to stop further deterioration so that we can take historical walks in this cemetery for a long time to come.

But you really need to stay on the path, because there are numerous open graves..... and no one will be there to save you if you tumble in!! Its spooky and sad all at the same time, the crumbling graves & mausoleums just make you want to cry.
I	Imre Kovács on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful small jewish cemetery, close to Orczy tér or Keleti train station. It is usually open during the daytime, so even if you see the door closed, try to open it, or knock on it and the guard will let you in. They keep it closed sometimes, as the area is not the most safe. Don't leave your car around, come on foot or tram. There is no entry fee and you can see a lot of old, beautiful jewish graves, with artistic stones. Some of those are in really bad condition, but some are already renovated. Also, please don't cross the chains, those are marking the paths you can take. Worth a visit during autumn, when the leaves are falling and the whole place is simply beautiful.
