Waterproof holy image, fireproof statue of Mary and a host of miracles A series of miracles have taken place in the land of Máriakálnok over the last centuries, so it may have become a famous pilgrimage site. In 1529, fleeing the Turks, the Christian army rested at a spring breaking on the border of Kálnok. The wounded warriors who cleaned their wounds with spring water were healed. Not long after, a holy image painted on paper and a statue of a linden tree depicting the Virgin Mary and little Jesus were unearthed in the water. The statue also had three residences. The first guarded it until 1663, the second until 1873. On June 10, 1873, the wooden chapel burned down completely, furnished and sacred, but the miracle of miracles, the statue of a linden tree, survived the raging of the “red rooster”. The new chapel was completed in less than 1 year. The statue was "tuned in". Jesus and Mary received a crown, a jug and a bright dress! To keep poor Mary from feeling unanimous, she is occasionally changed. When I was there, the path to it was lined with organ bushes dressed in a purple flood of flowers and trees covered with fresh greenery. Between two angelic columns, I entered the “territory” of the chapel. There was a bit of a shabby toilet here, a huge outdoor “pulpit”, and of course a pressure well from which the healing water could be pumped out with diligent work. The chapel itself is fresh, crisp, historicizing in style. The Romanian style dominates its appearance. Above the entrance, a statue of St. Florian and St. Vendel looks resolutely at the landscape.

Wonderful little chapel! It was very well solved, there is a lattice instead of a door so you can see the statue of the Virgin Mary, the interior of the chapel. On the side of the healing spring is water! Very nice environment! In front of it with the wonderful rose grove!
