Szarvaskend is a wonderful little village. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. I recommend it to those who want to hike and who love old castles, because the surroundings of this castle are very beautiful and tidy. Special thanks to the mayor of Szarvaskend for his kindness and directness and for giving us the opportunity to travel back a bit in time by being able to admire the building from the inside.

Kálmán Sibrik is a landowner, a classicist castle and a beautiful park in its present form, already in the 15th century. It has been owned by the family since the 16th century. It gained its present form in 1829. The family owned the estate until 1917. The building housed a school and kindergarten until 2008, and currently only a small portion is utilized as the seat of the joint municipal office. Its park is beautifully groomed and cared for. One of the halls of the castle contained the many prizes that Kálmán Sibrik, as a famous pigeon shooter, won in various domestic and foreign competitions. In another room there was a kind of local history exhibition of old utility objects, and in the third, in honor of the former school, an old classroom. Unfortunately, nothing was left of the original furnishings. Sibrik Castle is located on Fő utca, next to the Church of Our Lady of Sickle.
