Martina Gorondy-Wilde

My name is Martina and I am the managing director of SRS. My life was always about hospitality: I love treating guests the best way and the best feeling for me if I see someone coming to my home or my home country enjoys being there. Ever since I started this company 15 years ago, my days are fun, because I am able to help students with their accommodations and to provide information about their schools and flatmates. When I choose people to work for SRS, I always look for similar drives. So, here is the SRS-Team, that you will be able to chat/e-mail and call and they will be available 24/7.

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BEFORE RENTING AN APPARTMENT WITH SRS!!! would recommend everyone NOT to rent an appartment in Budapest with SRS. They are the most unfriendly and incompetent agency for renting an appartment i have ever seen and they use they rent you even the most horrific places: of course they let the appartments look great in their Internet pictures, but if you arrive and spend some time there, you will see the Problems. In my case, right behind the wall of my room, the construction works of a hotel building are starting every day at 7:30 in the morning. Terrible noise, i cannot sleep anymore then and even have to cover my ears in order to take the annoying noise. It is so noisy that even things, positioned on my table, move due to the sound. On the other hand, the neighbours upstairs (a family with 5 small children) are soo loud, run and shout around the whole day and night. They terrorize you until 2 o'clock in the night. The walls are so thinn, you hear everything. I called the police several times after i tried to complain about them face to face, but the woman from upstairs was just spitting in my face. NOT THE PROBLEMS WITH MY APPARTMENT IS THE REASON FOR MY CRITICISM HERE, BUT THE WAY "SRS" DEALT WITH THESE PROBLEMS. THEY HAD NO EMPATHY FOR ME AT ALL, CALLED MY PROBLEMS "NORMAL DOWNTOWN PROBLEMS", DID NOT EVEN WANT TO VISIT ME TO MAKE THEMSELVES THEIR OWN IMAGE OF THE SITUATION IN MY FLAT AND WERE NOT EVEN OK WITH PAYING ME THE CHEAPEST OF THE CHEAPEST HOSTELS FOR THE LAST DAYS OF MY STAY (WHEN THE CONSTRUCTION WORKS WERE LOUDER THAN EVER BEFORE). GUYS, I THINK YOU SHOULD FIND ANOTHER WAY TO GET A FLAT IN BUDAPEST, THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE TO MAKE ANY MONEY WITH YOU AT ALL. THE PICTURES OF MY FLATMATES ROOM DID NOT EVEN LOOK LIKE THE APPARTMENT IN REALITY, SO MANY THINGS WERE MISSING WHEN HE ARRIVED. THEY PRESENT THEIR FLATS GREAT ON INTERNET PICTURES, BUT IN REALITY YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH THEM. THANK YOU "SRS" FOR DESTROYING MY SEMESTER IN BUDAPEST!!

To all trying to find a flat with SRS, i warn you: the staff are very unfriendly, unhelpful and trying to scam the students as much as possible. The cleaning fees are too expensive and the cleaning lady didn’t even clean our flat properly.

I lived for six months in Akafca Utca 34, probably the worst street ever in Budapest. The house was nice sure, but prices were way to high. It's impossible to ask 300 € for one room in a place where after 5 pm it's full of drunk people and prostitutes, and I'm not exaggerating! Moreover be careful about Common costs. They do not write how much they are on the website so you wouldn't expect 100€ of common costs per person even in September. Cleaning fee were absolutely expensive, three people paying 14€ each (so 42€ in total) per month for two hours of cleaning (dishes excluded ). My roommates and I had to pay 65€ each for the cleaning fees for our last month even if the house was not dirty because we had to keep it clean by contract! I can expect to pay 400€ per month in France or Netherlands not in Hungary where it's possible to find accommodation within 250/300 €. We asked to have shutters in our flat because of the noise and lights of the street but the owner refused to do so, as she refused to change the boiler after it got broken 3 times, leaving us without hot water and hitting for one week.

Worst agency ever! My experience with SRS was really bad. The staff don't care if you have a problem in the flat and the prices of the apartments are quit hight compared to the average in Budapest. I stayed something like 2 weeks without the heating because the boiler was broken and the owner of the flat didn't want to repair it. We had to insist with SRS to have the boiler fixed. At the end they also said that it was our fault the the boiler was broken. The personnel of the agency is really rude, unpleasant and they don't even read your email. Moreover once we discovered that they entered our flat when we weren't home and of course they didn't adviced us. Trust me don't rent a flat with this agency!

I can not recommend this agency. They told us to bring the cash deposit in Euro so we could get it back in cash in our currency and we will not have any exchange rate losses. We didn't received the deposit back in cash. They transferred the deposit back months later and subtracted a lot, like they charged us more Utility costs for January ( we already left the apartment in the beginning of January) than for December. Cleaning service was professional, but they only came once in a month.

I do not recommend SRS to you. I think that for an agency that is supposed to be for students the prices are way too high. I thought it was normal before arriving in Budapest but when I heard how much my friends were paying it was really shocking for me. Be very careful because the cleaning fee are really expensive, it is crazy. I had to pay about 125€ in the first semester for some cleaning I could have done myself. You have to pay this again at the end of the second semester. You have to pay again at moving out and for me it was 55€. In the end, it would be like paying for another month of rent and I don't think it is normal. Once again, their customer target is students... I don't know any self-financing student that can give away that much money without problem. I was lucky because the apartment owner was really amazing but I wasn't satisfied with SRS. When I think of everything I paid for I know that I could have found something much cheaper. Moreover, some of the people working at SRS are not really reactive and never answer to the emails. Look on Facebook, you can find better apartments, in good locations and much cheaper.

Organization is smooth until you arrive since it is probably also in their interest. Once one arrives, the agency apparently does not care about one anymore. The three tenants of us did not receive any answers to our rather important e-mails anymore and the claimed promises on the SRS website never happened (also upon request). We were promised to receive beer and a transit to our flat from the airport which could not be fulfilled anymore due to covid?? But taxis were ok? We were promised to receive a compensation for it. Well, it never came.
