Really delicious, fresh sushi, full of taste and high quality. No mayonnaise or sweet sauce on your sushi which is a rare find today. Perfect service. Absolutely recommend!

not bad sushi and nigiri. but donkasu was terrible because it was separate meat and dough. And very EXPENSIVE all of things extra 12% service charge. you have to check in front of page in menu. I didn't see it before pay. I shocked.

Very polite English speaking staff. During the dinner relaxing zen music were running in the Background (after the two choya plum wine ?together with this zen music in background I was almost asleep?). The restaurant itself has a pleasant minimalistic interior. The menu is written on the three languages Hungarian, English & Russian with explanations what those Japanese food names really means & besides are pictures of particular dishes. The dinner for two with green Japanese tea, two choya, starters & main dishes was about 20e Ft which is approximately 60€ so it can be said that this is not expensive at all. In summary this is nice place for dinner & it's deserve recommendation.

The bento place is great! I ordered the Unagi set and it came with rice, miso, sashimi, grilled eel, tempura, Maki and salad for 17K. It was very tasty and I recommend it :) My friend ordered the soba tempura ? There are not so many cocktail options though, but overall experience is great :)

I've been at Sushi Sei many years ago, in it's previous place. Back then impressed me with the freshness and variety of sushi. What changed is the new environment, cosy and pleasant, the professionalism of the staff, and bigger variety of Nippon cuisine. Only thing I missed, a bigger variety of the Japanese whisky, knowing that they have really good ones. Definitely one of the bests in Budapest! ?

Finding different types of cuisine in large cities has become easier over the years. While I'm a big fan of trying local foods, I still go back to my favorite styles during longer trips. We decided to try the Sushi Sei on my recent trip to Budapest. The restaurant is located close to the main downtown tourist areas but not necessarily walking distance. The decor is upscale and we were immediately seated. All of the staff were friendly and we didn't have any issues speaking English. We ordered a wide variety of food, starting with some of their fresh oysters (served either French or Japanese style), Miso soup, Spicy Octopus salad, side salad, chawamushi, and having tempura, chirashi (sashimi) and zaru soba as our entrees. They have some dinner sets but other than the chirashi we went full tapas style. Everything came out beautifully presented and everything was good. While we had some minor issues (they brought out Japanese style oysters instead of the French that we ordered), the staff and owners took care of everything immediately and went above and beyond. Oysters - 5 star. Fresh and delicious. Miso - 4 star. Very good Octopus Salad- 3 star. The octopus was a little dry and they mix it with real wasabi which was a nice surprise. Not to my taste though. Side Salad - 4 star. Nice light dressing and fresh Chawamushi - 3 star. Done well (which can be hard to do) Tempura - 4 star. Delicious. Not as crispy as some but very good, sauce was amazing and tasty Chirashi - 4 star. Great variety of fresh seafood Zaru Soba - 5 star. Basic dish but like the tempura the sauce was delicious. Noodles were a little overdone but good. Deluxe Sashimi* - Note this has some exotic types of food and looked good but we had to return ours and replaced it with the Chirashi set so not rating. Ambiance - 5 star. Staff - 5 star. Overall you won't go wrong coming here if you're in the mood for some Japanese food in Budapest.

Came to Sushi Sei almost 10 times in the past 1 year and a half, this restaurant is one of my personal favorites in Budapest. The food was excellent and the waiter serving us was really polite and friendly. Elegant dining atmosphere, a great place for dining or lunch. Slightly difficult to find parking nearby, but if you come during the weekend it is would be easy to find parking in front of the restaurant, across the street. Soba, katsu don, dessert, and steam egg are the best, in my opinion, I tried almost all menus and they are all outstanding. Very nice 10/10
