"Szalay Zoltán (Budapest, 1935. május 16. – 2017. február 14.) Táncsics Mihály-díjas magyar fotóriporter, a Magyar Sajtófotó Pályázat és Kiállítás szellemi atyja, kitalálója.
1954 és 1964 között a Főfotó riporterosztályán dolgozott. 1964 és 1985 között a Tükör című hetilap munkatársa volt. 1985-től a Magyar Hírlap, 1990-től 1992-ig a Kurír, 1993-tól két éven keresztül a Blikk fotórovatának a vezetője volt. A Magyar Sajtófotó Pályázat és Kiállítás kitalálója. 1983-ban a Budapesti Tavaszi Fesztivál egyik eseményeként indult kiállítást harminc éven keresztül 2012-ig rendezte."

"Zoltán Szalay (Budapest, May 16, 1935 - February 14, 2017) Mánály Táncsics Prize-winning Hungarian photojournalist, the intellectual father and inventor of the Hungarian Press Photo Competition and Exhibition.
From 1954 to 1964, he worked in the reporter department of the Main Photo. From 1964 to 1985, he was a contributor to the weekly Mirror. From 1985 he was the head of the photographic section of Magyar Hírlap, from 1990 to 1992 of Kurír, and from 1993 for two years of Blikk. Inventor of the Hungarian Press Photo Competition and Exhibition. He started the exhibition in 1983 as one of the events of the Budapest Spring Festival for thirty years until 2012. "
