Szapáry-Eötvös kápolna

It is not a monument yet, although a chapel was in its place in the 1200s. Now the church and the municipality have set the stage for its restoration. Its name was given by the famous physicist whose ashes are buried here. The chapel had a spring, and is now gone.

I would like to make a small correction to the previous opinion. This chapel is the burial ground of Baron József Eötvös, who was the father of the famous physicist. By the way, he was a minister of the Batthyány government. The ashes had previously been moved to a memorial site in the city (opposite the community center).

Exciting place. Beautiful views of the Danube and Csepel Island. It was nicely renovated, though someone had stolen the lamps. It is advisable to go down to the Danube, but be careful, because the steep coast and the stairs are exciting. Below there is a small spring to the right. Its water is clear and cold, but I don't know if it is drinkable.

It is a place of pilgrimage easily accessible by pleasant walks or by car for the disabled. Below it, on the banks of the Danube, is a spring that gives very clean and good-tasting water. It is said that miraculous healings from the water took place here.

Very nice place, neatly tidied up. It can only be reached by car from Ercsi Battai út, heading towards the refinery! Also by bike, from Ercsi Csokonai utca, this road runs north on the high bank of the Danube, with a nice view of the Danube in a few places. About 40 meters below the chapel is a spring on the banks of the Danube, which is still dripping to this day. A staircase leads down to it from the chapel.

Monument erected in a wonderful environment on the banks of the Danube. Easily accessible by car, not strenuous on foot.

Nice, quiet place. However, no visitor information is exposed anywhere. With a small child, I do not recommend the downhill road that leads to the Danube, it is very unsafe.

I went to the Eötvös József grammar school. Later I was a soldier in Százhalombatta, we built the road between Ercsi and Batta and meanwhile, based on a local ear, I reached the bank of the Danube, where it was the monument of Baron József Eötvös in amazing condition. A horror full of ruined, grassy, ​​torn cavities. I didn't even understand how that was possible ... it was a mystery. We just visited the chapel, it’s in a particularly secluded place even now, there aren’t too many guides out there, but we still found it. You have to look below the lower limit of the oil refinery, taking care of between two blocks of concrete, you can roll over in a car of average size, then a long way past the forest towards the Danube. But it's worth the trip. The chapel is in order, the obelisk is proud, and if you find the end to the Danube, there is even a cave in Lourdes on the steep bank.
