Érdekes módon a petőfin lévő postán megszámolták szó nélkül. Kávézni,csevegni vannak ezek ott?! Látszik,hogy állami cég Jerk, barn who doesn't want to work. Kedvenceim közé tartozik: A csomagkiszállító nem tud bemenni az ajtó a postaládákig amely nincs zárva pusztán be van hajtva, arra hivatkozik hogy nem tudja a kódot az ajtóhoz, mikor a kapucsengő még még szám sem található. Szintúgy másik alkalommal a kedves kiszállító nem hagyott a csomagfelvételére szolgáló cédulát majd a feltűntetett nyilvános vezetékes telefonszámot hívva nem érti az illető miért keresem magán számon. Az évek alatt rengeteg ilyen esetbe futottam. De legyen kimondva, ezek sokszor csak rendkívül bosszantó esetek de nem feltétlen az általános. Majdnem minden héten van egy vagy kettő csomagom, védhetetlen ezek az esetek. A legzavaróbb talán a probléma szintje és a megoldási készség. Mondjuk amikor vámot kellett fizetni 2 nap alatt az ajtóm előtt volt a kedves postás és egy nagyon kedves mosollyal adta át a csomagot..... The post office in Szeged always offers varied experiences. Hát nem tudta senki, Ilonka sem, aki odalibbent szájalni, hogy mit gondolok én, így nem lehet ezt felvenni. Majd, mintha a bélyeg rajta sem lenne, kifizettette a teljes összeget. Közben gunyos megjegyzéseket tesznek az én tudatlanságomra. 4 méterrel a hátuk mögött ott lóg a falon: "Használd az E-postakönyvet!" mert korszerű... stb. A postás "kisasszonyoknak" minderről fogalmuk sincs. A megszégyenítés, kifogás keresés, gúnyolódás az megy. Katasztrófa! Ha én ellopok egy kiflit az ABC-ben rámhívják a rendőrséget. A Magyar Postán rajtam, a károsulton gúnyolódva simán ellophatják a borítékra ragasztott bélyeg értékét. Tehetik mindezt teljesen büntetlenül. ("Amilyen a fa, olyan a gyümölcse!" magyar közmondás.) Ki küldik a hivatalos levelet IS 14:00 kor meg 15:00 kor, ez így a jó! biztos h ne tudja át venni senki mert mondjuk nagyjából mindenki dolgozik. Fél órával zárás előtt (18:30) még mindig nincs ott a levél, biztos haza vitte magával a postás bácsi. Az embereknek arra van ideje, hogy a postára mászkáljon. A real worthless whole institution. Who will send the official letter IS at 14:00 and 15:00, it's so good! sure h don't be taken over by anyone because let's say pretty much everyone is working. Half an hour before closing (18:30) the letter is still not there, the postman's uncle must have taken it home. People have time to crawl to the post office.

It's located on the corner of Széchenyi Tér (the park side), which joins up with Kiss Menyhért Utca and Nagy Jeno Utca. On the far corner of the same building, on the junction of Széchenyi Tér and Deák Ferenc Utca (going towards the Belvárosi híd - Downtown Bridge) is the sorting office. This is where you collect "I missed the postman" parcels and letters from, as well as your address card from Budapest. On the two occasions I had to visit the place, to sign for recorded delivery letters, I found the fluent English speaking staff very polite and helpful. Now I use this post office to pay my Szeged apartment bills, as it's open til late.

I never have to wait much to get my turn and in my experience, their service is more reliable than companies like DHL in Hungary. This post office makes receiving mail easy.
