Zagyvaszántón átutazva megállásra késztetett bennünket a temető mellett egy szép nagy füves park látványa, benne több faragott fa-alkotás. A "700 éves Zagyvaszántó története" (Millecententenáriumi honfoglalási) emlékmű és a Szent Erzsébet-szobor látható itt. E két alkotás adta a ligetes terület két parkrészének nevét is. A "700 év Zagyvaszántó történetében" emlékmű: A park közepe táján egy hatszögletű talapzat, melynek sarokpontjaiban hat és közepén egy oszlop áll. A település történetének egy-egy évszázada jellegzetességei jelennek meg a faragott oszlopokon. Középen a főoszlop. Az alkotókról, a részletes leírásról és az ünnepélyes avatásról is olvasni lehet a "Szántó hírei" 1999. augusztusi számában. Az 1999-ben avatták fel. A fafaragó: Szondy Sándor. A település honlapján honfoglalási emlékműnek is olvastam erről, s Millecentenáriumi park-részként ismert ezen emlékműves terület. A Szent Erzsébet szobor a park egy másik részén található, kezében rózsákkal. Az őt körülvevő fa pergolára is stílszerűen futórózsát futtatak fel. A parkrész nevét is adó Szent Erzsébet szobor Szklenár István helyi fafaragó művész alkotása. A pergola és a talapzat készítőiről is olvahatunk. Az avatás 2008. aug. 20-án volt. Erről a "Szántó hírei" 2008. ösz-tél számában lehet olvasni. A temető felé eső részen áll még egy kopjafa. Legközelebb megnézem. Ilyen szép és érdekes alkotásokban gyönyörködhet, akinek van ideje es kedve, hogy betérjen e kedves településbe, melyet a helybeliek Szántó-nak neveznek.
