A falu előző temploma az 1839. évi tűzvészben elégett, 1882-84 között újjáépítették, azonban 1887-ben egy nagy vihar derékba törte a tornyát. Nemcsak a templom épülete, de berendezése is eklektikus stílusban készült. A Lotz Károly által festett oltárkép 1890-ben készült el, a szentély mennyezetképe szintén a XIX.század végéről származik. A római katolikus templom mellé épült 1899 és 1914 között, feltehetően arra a helyre, ahol az 1839. évi tűzvészben a falu temploma és régi fa harangtornya harangjával együtt megsemmisült.
