Unfortunately, during the winter, there are only 2 pairs of trains at peak times.

I think it's a wonderful place to walk along the little ponds. In summer, humidity is very high. We can meet with cattle. The restaurants are very good and we can also buy small gifts.

The Szalajka Valley is a place blessed with an incredible number of sights and natural wonders. Man has been visiting this miracle for a long time. Just think about it, the prehistoric people already lived here, in the Stable-Stone Cave.  What is better known as the Stone Stable in historical times, as it was used as a shelter for pigs and sheep. Turning back to the present. During our magical walk, the Szalajka stream and its quiet rustle accompany us to the spring. Along the way we can see the Rock Spring, trout breeding, the forest museum, the Guard of the Carpathians (then a 3 meter, single oak sculpture depicting a World War I soldier) Wonderful lake with wild ducks. Then we arrive at the veil waterfall, which, due to the poor water flow, is just rattling. But nature is, and so must love. Next time, maybe. It is worth taking a return trip by the forest railway. It is a special experience and from a different perspective we can see the landscape. It is a huge experience for those who walk here. Good parking, snacks on the road, gift shop, and naturally cultured washbasins. Have a nice time for everyone.

Very nice and tidy little train station. It is not possible to buy tickets locally, but it is not a problem that the MÁV application can offer a good alternative. We went back to Eger from Szilvásvárad by train, which has a slightly longer journey time than if you take a bus, but the landscape and the panorama can be better enjoyed from the railway.

For some reason, the map does not indicate any of the Máv highway stops in Szilvásvárad. This is the closest Szilvásvárad Szalajkavölgy railway station along the Eger-Szilvásvárad 87 railway line. There is a built-in waiting room with a jaw-dropping design as well as benches on the platform. However, the schedule is sparse. They have repeatedly wanted to stop the passenger transport here.
