My advice for tourists is to ask for the estimated price before you jump into the car.

The driver take us on a longer way. Careful! Necessary GPS ON so you will arrive with the shorter way. :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT use TAXI PLUS in Budapest.
What happened to me is that I used my credit card on the way to the airport and the driver said it didn´t work.
Then he asked me to swipe it again, because the system was down, but what he actually did was being dishonest and charging me 2 times. They don´t speak a word of English so it makes it more difficult to understand the situation.
Their car are the yellow ones, like any other in the city, but then you look for the TAXI PLUS sign on the top of the car.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO AVOID THIS COMPANY, RUN AWAY WHEN THEY OFFER YOU A RIDE.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On last Saturday, we were picked up at the Budapest airport, and were quite surprised to have to go to a car park to take the cab. When we reached the hotel, we realized the choice of that company was a strong mistake: the price for transfer was of HUF 14,000, instead of HUF 9,000. In spite of our complaints in this respect, the driver ( EDB-128, license driver 450) indicated the HUF 14,000 cost was the usual one. We just wanted to report on these unfair practices, which are hardly detrimental to your company’s reputation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday I called a taxiplus taxi. The carrier sent me the Skoda Octovia license plate number EDG 577. After leaving the car I forgot a bag of Zara. The value of the clothes in the bag is 35000 forint. The amount of clothes in my bag is that of my 3-year-old son. Included in the bag are purchase invoices. After I had forgotten my belongings, I tried to contact the Taxiplus switchboard but did not get the proper help so I could get my bag back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible experience! Been studying in Budapest for the past three months and I never saw a bad driver like that ! Took us to the airport from our flat which is normally between 6000-6500 Ft and charged us close to 13 000 !!! The driver almost forced us to pay by cash and even brought us to the ATM but since we are use to Budapest pretty well we knew where is machine was so we forced him to take it out ! Be careful because they look just alike the normal city taxis which are much better !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Driver charged me 4,250 for a ~1,500 taxi ride. He drove all the way around the city as I watched on my map and wouldn’t go directly to the place. He even passed it one street away and would not stop the cab. He also would not allow credit card and would not provide a receipt. How do I file a formal complaint? His taxi is 560.
