Hotel needs renovation, but its is not too expensive and spa is nice

The place was beautiful, the river Tisza is near by the hotel, but only one thing is bad for me, the room was really poor, with old furnitures.

The spa needs and uplift in atmosphere, however it has one of the best thermal waters in Hungary

Is an old run down hotel, must have been beautiful in its heyday. One can clearly see that this hotel needs investment. Anyways, breakfast okay, typical hungarian buffet style. Coffee is terrible but they have eggs, sausage, raw veg, bread etc. Big thing is the thermal bath, havn't tried it.

This hotel was booked for me, on a trip to Hungary. So I had no idea what to expect. From the outside the hotel looks great, if you're into these old period buildings. I quite liked it. But since seeing my room I just felt so deflated. So disappointed. The rooms are old also. But they're also dusty. Dust piles in the corners behind doors. Not very nice. Our room had a "Paranormal Witness" feel about it. The shower is rubbish. They still use old fasioned shower curtains which doesn't give enough room to allow the guest to wash properly without the curtain sticking to the skin. The toilet leaked with each flush. The TV in the room couldn't have more than a 20-inch screen. And only 5 channels. And one of them in Chinese! No news channels -- very weird. On the plus side the wifi is free and works well. We went for breakfast around 8am. The rush had passed. There was just one other couple there. Because this time of year is cold I headed for the cooked food. This consisted of sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bundaskenyer (or eggy bread). And of course coffee and tea etc. The fruit juices were all watered down though. Enough there for us to eat though. The breakfast hall is very ornate. However, from what I've seen so far I don't know if I'd recommend this hotel.

Once a glorious building now somewhat dilapidated. Cozy small restaurant on the river side. Excellent place next to the Tisza river and close to the city center. Nice thermal bath within the building. Good breakfast. Polite staff. The standard room is small.

On the positive side: the best location, spacious parking, the aura of the old times, quiet place. The baths are small yet nice and since there's not many visitors you can rest there. The staff is nice and helpful. But there is a lot to improve: refurbishment of the rooms was due long time ago, no elevator (I guess no hotel boys either to bring your bags!), the state of repair of the building itself is scary. Plus the price vs quality is lower than the Hungarian standard. Overall still good place to visit as no other locations are really available in the area.
