On the initiative of Pál Bezerédj (1840-1918) they started in 1898 to build the Silk Spinning Factory in Tolna. In the factory owned by the Hungarian state, the normal production started in 1900. Today Tolnatext Yarn Processing and Technical Fabric Manufacturer BT. The production of silk yarn was started with one hundred and twenty spinning units, involving Italian specialists. They made fifty kilograms of silk yarn a day. The raw material was provided by the Hungarian silk cocoon itself, as the Bezerédj family made Tolna county the home of silkworm breeding. After World War I, the factory became a joint-stock company. It was declared a military plant in 1940 to make thread for parachute silk. After 1945, it lost its independence within the framework of the Hungarian Silk Industry Company. By the 1970s, silk production was slowly declining and then completely ceased. Today, a new image of the textile industry has emerged. There is a "Memorial Room" on the site of the factory, which preserves the historical values ​​of the industry.
