Best Restaurant in Hungary

v	vincze otilia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started going to Trifla a year ago or so. Back then the food was delicious, the service was okay, overall good experience. In the last 5-6 months the restaurant went downhill; service became terrible, overage waiting time is 1-1,5 hours, and the food tastes below overage. Such a disappointment, never going back again.

I have shown a picture on the menu and I get something else. The chicken of my friend was dry as a chicken left for days in the Sahara! I wish I would have read the real comments before sitting in this place!!
J	Jeremy Swartz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trifla was recommended to me on my recent visit to Eger. It is located on a pedestrian street in Old Town. It is a nice location with a number of other restaurants and shops nearby. There is a decent amount of covered, outdoor seating. As well as some seats inside. The waitress spoke limited English. Ordering was not a problem but if you asked questions about the food you could run into issues. The menu has a wide selection to choose from. Although when ordering I soon discovered that they were out of some items. The lemonade was just a bit on the bland side. But maybe one of the other flavors than the default Lemon/Orange I ordered would have been better. I ended up with the steak and mushroom pasta. It was not really what I wanted but I am the one that made the error in order. It was good but there seemed to be very little steak. Unless you are really in the mood for pasta I suggest trying one of the other dishes.

However the last time we went to eat there my husband's food wasn't properly cook and was freezing in the middle so he couldn't eat it... The waiter compensated us with a bottle of wine to take with us.... the chef was busy chatting to a group of men in the restaurant so maybe this was why there was a mistake. The waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. Such a pity so that's why I've only given it 2 stars.

Half chicken also very good not so salty Beef tripe with mushrooms sauce was very tender and smell of mushroom was perfect with the beef. I love this dish the best atmosphere was warmth and cozy Staffs were very nice Friendly with dog
M	Máté Makai on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited for dinner on a Friday with a reservation. The place got packed quite quickly. In spite of this we got our orders on a timely manner. We were satisfied with the starter bruschetta and snails. The beef cheek was marvelous, simply a must. The red wine recommended by the waiter was much of my liking. We liked the chicken kiev, the crumbs was especially good. The pannacotta was ok. This is an outstanding place, we would return any time.
