In the middle of the 18th century, Catholics settled in the sparsely populated settlement in a larger number. Initially, they had only their own cemetery around the abandoned, medieval church, which was restored by the Calvinists at the end of the century. Catholics also wanted their own temple, but only one bell tower could be set. The Greek Catholic believers belonged to Nyírgels. Their zeal is a sign that they laid the foundation stone of their own church in 1826, and in 1834 it was consecrated. The facade tower was completed only in 1898. A major reconstruction took place between 1934 and 36, when the church was extended: the ship was lengthened and elevated, and a new sanctuary was built. In 1945 he became an independent witch. A few years later, Géza Veress painted the church. The iconostasis was painted by Ferenc Janka and Gábor in the 1980s, but by the work of the apostolic Mihai Pascariu, who also renewed the wall painting. The church was completely renovated from the outside after 2000.
