A place where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend… The Váli winery has been recommended by several of my friends years ago, but we have only just gotten there to visit the place. When we booked the place last year, we didn’t even notice that this weekend was falling for Easter, it only became clear to us later, but we didn’t regret it, we spent three wonderful days with our friends in the Kali Basin. But back to the Váli winery. For me, it has already become clear during the telephone consultation that we will not be staying with a host who is stuttering, but with a host who is ambitious for the wishes of his guests. True, this has been said by others, but well, my own experience is always stronger… We arrived with a smaller “free team” (18 people), the reception was very cordial, we got “host wine” and then everyone occupied their own little apartment. Perhaps a single word about apartments; they are impeccable. Cleanliness is very important to us, here my Wife did not have to remove dust or just clean the bathroom like in many other places… They also pay attention to small things, a comfortable bed with a sufficient number of wardrobes, a small refrigerator, in the larger apartments there is also a large refrigerator in the common room, and a well-equipped kitchen that satisfies all needs awaits the visitor. The apartments, at the “base” of the vineyards, give the impression of a real Provencal or even Tuscan. Comfortable pillows on the outdoor benches, if anyone would like to cook in the cauldron or grill, they can do the same, but children can also run around the grassy area, they even built a small lookout at the end of the garden. Well but so much for the environment and now for the hospitality. Péter Váli's motto, "To my own pleasure", everyone feels about the attitude of the hosts, the quality of the food and drinks. In a matter of moments, everyone dissolves, and not necessarily from the effect of the wines, but from the directness and kindness of Peter. Did they watch our every move, if someone raised their head, was someone from the small team already there - Péter or Bogi his wife, maybe Luca's daughter, or just the two young waiters, Gergő and Péter - and they already asked what they could help? The food, appetizers, could be served at any top restaurant and they wouldn’t be ashamed anywhere. The wines are excellent, although I know this is highly subjective, we and my Wife have found quite high quality for us as well. (Blue-handed, Tabula Rasa, Pinot Noir, Syrah) I couldn’t write a negative if I wanted to, unless it was that there was always someone from the waiters waiting for us to talk outside in the yard, and e.g. they didn't go over after the wine tasting, even sitting next to us in the yard, bringing out either 3 bottles of wine, and they even kept us for 2 hours or so… Well, good, we didn't protest…  Thank you very much for everything, we think back with gratitude to both the place and our hosts!
