★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food, wide range of game dishes, wild boar really good, venison great! Lots to choose from and big portions. Prices fair, £6 for most mains. Porchini cream soup is finom! Staff are great, menus in Hungarian, German and English. This is my favourite restaurant in the area, can't recommend it highly enough!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trouth to be told the food is great! On the other hand Hungarian waiters need to loose their rude attitude in order not to loose their customers! E.g. - Do not dare to ask about the kind of pasta your soup might contain, as you may be advised that you are not around the “Great Hungarian Plains” where it would be ok to ask about your soup. It is gonna take years before we get to the level of the customer service of the “Western World”. Bare that in mind and you won’t be surprised.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have seen a bad review, but my personal experience is actually excellent, there are many restaurants in the area of Heviz, but over the years we have lived here, this one has become our favourite, a wide choice of dishes (starter and mains alike). Of course there can always be something to complain, but me and my wife are very happy (5 year residents 5 km away), we go there I think on average twice (or even a bit more) per month.
Service in general is very good, but of course waiters can be in a bad mood (like all of us).
I am honest in my reviews (I think I gave 5 star only once in my life), but I can only recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are welcome to the place with a miserable face of disgust. The waiter refused to talk to us and left us standing. After we eventually sat we all ordered similar foods. When it was ready the waiter came in and carelessly left our food on the table. The waiter didn't explain what each meal was so we were left there guessing whose plate is whose. In the end the service is horrible. The waiters only know Hungarian and German. So any other customers are left hopeless. Everything except of the food was horrible.

I do not recommend for visitors who don't speak Hungarian or German to come to that place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh dear. We came here a number of years ago and it was fairly pleasant, however, we went tonight and I can seldom recall being made to feel less welcome in a place of hospitality. After ordering and receiving drinks we tried to order from the (far too complicated) menu but, mid way through the process, with the waiter and waitress were clearly and obviously wishing we weren't there, so we paid for the drinks and voted with our feet. We are a family of four with 2 young kids. We wont be back and if you like a modicum of friendliness, we'd recommend you steer clear as well. Try Halászcsárda which is 4 minutes away, has a better menu and prices, is friendly and has stunning panoramic views.
