A bekötőút tavasszal, a virágzás időszakában szemet gyönyörködtető látványt nyújt. Évről évre egyre több kiránduló és fotós keresi meg tavasszal Gyöngyöstarjánt, hogy maguk is megörökíthessék ezt az útszakaszt. A 4-7 méter magasságig megnövő vérszilva különlegessége a sötét tónusú, elegáns lombozata, és a tavasszal hozott enyhén illatos, rózsás virágai. Savanykás ízű kisméretű gyümölcse van, de ültetni elsősorban a szépsége, harmonikus megjelenése miatt szokták.
