Árad a nyugalom, ahogy az ember végig andalog az utcácskán, a gyönyörű házak között.
Tranquility flows as one walks down the street through the beautiful houses.

Ma már a nyugalom szigete. Csodálatos település. Kiváló kirándulóhely a környék erdeivel együtt. Az ember szinte a XVIII. században találja magát.
Today it is an island of tranquility. Wonderful town. An excellent excursion destination with the forests of the area. Man almost in the XVIII. century finds itself.

Tiszta levegő, csönd, béke és nyugalom és nincs térerő. Csak GPS/Glonass/Galileo működik
Clean air, silence, peace and quiet and no field strength. Only GPS / Glonass / Galileo works

Egy kis zsákfalu. Tiszta, nyugodt, csendes. A kirándulók paradicsoma lehet a környék. De kalkuláld bele, hogy nincs a környéken térerő.
A small bag village. Clean, calm, quiet. The area is a paradise for hikers. But calculate that there is no signal strength in the area.

Csákvár után hajtottunk jobbra egy kis erdei útra. Végig az erdők mellett haladva csodaltuk az őszi tájat, a növényzetet. Csodálatos látványt nyújtott a természet.
After Csákvár we drove to the right on a small forest road. Walking along the forests, we admired the autumn landscape, the vegetation. Nature provided a wonderful sight. Access to the village is only possible for residents, a sign at the beginning of the village warns about this. The sack village can be reached in a good 1 hour. We can see beautiful houses built in 1800 and 1700. To the left of the village is a very old cemetery as well as a church. It is worth visiting the village and taking a pleasant walk.

After reading that Vérteskozma was one of the most picturesque towns in Hungary, I decided to visit and see it with my own eyes. This town is only one street with between 60-80 houses. After arriving to the street, I got a bit disappointed because I didn’t see anything spectacular, but I anyway got off the car and walked. After observing the third, fourth house, it got my interest. All houses have similar structure, but each and every one of them have their own distinctive decoration. I walked and walked seeing all houses one by one until the last one. On my way back to the car I found a table with the town’s history. After the Ottoman occupation, Hungary was depopulated, while Germany was overpopulated. In 1744, József Eszterházy, a politician in the county, brought 59 German, catholic, farmer families from Bavaria. With time, apart from houses, they built their school and a church. They were also the first one in the country to grow potatoes. Due to the language and to the isolation, talking about distance, they built a tight-knit community and lived happily for around 200 years. In 1941 there was a census and apart from a handful of families, the whole town declared themselves German nationals and German speakers. Due to that, when the Germans occupy Hungary, they force them to military service. All men between 18 and 50 years of age were taken away from their town. Later on in December 1945, a mandate was approved to send back to Germany all people who declared themselves Germans in the last census. Next year in May, 68 families were taken out from Hungary; only 4 families stayed. Those were the only ones who didn’t declare themselves German. 318 people, out of which 181 were children, were expelled from the land where they were born. The trip back was 9 days and they were allowed to only take 20 kilos of food and 80 kilos of cloth per person, plus kitchen utensils. A community built in 200 years, their culture, their lifestyle, their social structure and their economy destroyed by politics and war. I stayed for an hour, but the town is considered a place for retreat, relaxation, connection with nature and digital detox. There was no signal in my mobile phone for around 5 km.
