The staff was very kind, the play we saw was great this time (The Great Gatsby) but I had bad experience with another one before :( also the seats are too much on one level, so it's harder to see from the people in front of you :(

Very beautiful place, amazing actors, always had fun when I went there. As far as I know the plays are only in Hungarian, but they are truly worth the money. You can get tickets from 5-1k forint and the price depends on the quality of your seat, and also the play. I recommend taking the more expensive seats if you go there for the first time, to get that real good experience

One of my best theatre experience. I really really loved it. Professional actors, great atmosphere, definitely worth to visit.

No brush only water pressure. Too expensive . Not enough time for the coins used

A very nice building. The seats might be too low for tall people, makes it a bit uncomfortable to sit for a longer period of time.

I read a review about the seats directly under the control post. Men said in that review ,they could not hear anything from those seats. Now, i can tell you is not true! I could hear from there perfectly everything! And also see everyhing on stage!

One of the great theatres in Budapest along with the Opera and Madách, Thália etc. A beautiful building inside and out and showing mostly high end critically acclaimed productions. I've been here quite a few times and have to say that being in the Balcony/Karzat is just not worth it unless you are desperate. You get a fantastic view of the amazing chandelier and the ceiling, but not much else. Previous shows we have sat in the front few rows on the ground level and whatever we've seen really gives you the live theatre experience. You can SMELL the grease paint. You can HEAR the actors breathing, their footsteps, etc. You KNOW you are there. Upstairs you might as well be watching it on TV. Actors are so small you can't see their expressions. You miss anything happening at front of stage, even if you REALLY lean forward. This happened on "The Dictator" which we saw on this occasion. Wonderful production, but we really had trouble seeing what was happening. Plus, even in winter it gets REALLY warm up there. And we've heard from others that on hot summer days, it's unbearable. They've had to leave it was so uncomfortable. This really applies to all the classical theatre house in Budapest. Go the extra mile and pay for the more expensive seats in the front 10 or so rows. It's still comparatively cheap. Even the most expensive seats will cost less than $50AUD. Theatres have become extremely popular over the last 10 years. You used to be able to buy good seats a few days before at almost any theatre. Now in 2018, even 6 weeks or so prior, it's difficult to get seats, even up in the balconies. Especially if you are trying to seat several people together.
