Egykor villamos közlekedett a Király utcában. Ennek állít emléket ez az öreg jármű.
There was once a tram on Király Street. This old vehicle commemorates this.

The memory of the local tram operating on two lines in Pécs between 1913 and 1960. Not exactly that, but cars like this ran on the single-track, detour system tramway. Although a place in the spatial sense has been found for this small tram, its true function has not yet. It also functioned as a café or mini-museum, or as a period gallery, but was not durable in either. It still throws up Franciscan Street a lot and no one is in the way, it has a good place here.

Good. Unfortunately we couldn’t go up on it when we were there, even though my little boy would have really enjoyed it.

It's great to see a tram in Pécs City Centre. Admission is free and well worth a visit!

In the beginning of 1910's Pécs was as beautiful as today and was attracting more people, more people were moving in to this city. In 1910 Pécs's population was almost 50.000, so establishing proper public transport was a must. In order to solve the public transport issue of the growing population, the construction of the tram network began on April 12, 1913. A total of 3 lines were built and first tram ran on 20th October of 1913. Last bell of trams was heard in the streets of Pécs in 31st of August, 1960. City administration decided to remove trams from service because of high cost and trams weren't modern. You can still see some relics of tramlines in the streets of Pécs like pairs of rails, memorial tram car and rosette top wire hooks on building.
