★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1928. július 12.-én a trianoni békében lecsökkentett létszámú hadsereg a Várpalota közelében lévő lőtéren próbálta ki a titokban fejlesztett fegyverét, egy légvédelmi ágyút.
Az alkalom egyben bemutató is volt a katonai vezetés számára. Azonban az anyaghibás gránát a csőben felrobbant és vitéz Csörgey Károly tábornok több bajtársával együtt meghalt. Emléküket obeliszk őrzi a tési út mellett, amelynek tetejéről turul vigyázza az áldozatok álmát. Az emlékművet 2008-ban, az eset 80-ik évfordulójára emelték.
On July 12, 1928, the army of Trianon, reduced in size, tested its secretly developed weapon, an air defense cannon, on the shooting range near Castle Palace.
The occasion was also a demonstration for the military leadership. However, the defective grenade exploded in the pipe and he died along with several comrades of the valiant General Károly Csörgey. Their memory is preserved by an obelisk next to the road, from the top of which the market takes care of the victims ’dreams. The monument was erected in 2008 to mark the 80th anniversary of the incident.
