Testőr altábornagy, 1927-1936 között a Magyar Királyi Testőrség parancsnoka. 1902-1904 között a cs. és kir. 39. gyalogezrednél szolgál, ennek állomásai Debrecen, Nagyvárad, Temesvár. 1904-1918 között a cs. és kir. 52. gyalogezredben szolgál. Három alkalommal sebesül meg. 1916-1918-ig a 36. hadosztály rohamzászlóalj parancsnoka. Az 1918. június 16-tól 30-ig lefolyt harcokban a Dél-Tirolban vívott ütközetben vitéz öntevékeny magatartásával tűnik ki.
