A magyar vasbetonépítés elméleti és gyakorlati megalapozója Mihailich Győző tervezte, aki elsők között kapott Kossuth díjat a műszaki tudományok terén elért eredményeiért. The Újpest Water Tower was built in 1911-12 and is a historicist, secessionist industrial monument, an outstanding work of early Hungarian iron and reinforced concrete architecture. It was designed by Győző Mihailich, who was the first to receive the Kossuth Prize for his achievements in the field of technical sciences.

Unfortunately, the competent local government (Újpest or the capital) does not deal with the preservation of the condition, so it is in a worse and worse condition ... ?

Grandiosely standing there since over a century, it really adds to the landscape of this somehow rural area. It would be interesting to get access to it and to be able to categorise it as what it is here on Google maps! Water towers are lovely.
