Real old style 4 storey granary, unfortunately not easy to approach. And its texture is deteriorating.

Unfortunately an abandoned warehouse building! Not to be visited, only from outside!

Romantic landscape, rabbits everywhere. The granary was broken, so we looked inside.

Nice building, it would be a shame to lose it!

The granary is located in the late Károly Major in Csorvás. Wecnkheim can be reached from Rudolf Castle on a pretty poorly maintained driveway. Once upon a time there was the castle of Count Kárroly Wecnkheim, which was demolished many years ago. Of the major, virtually only the granary remained in the state shown in the photos. To the west of the granary, about 160 meters away, in the corner of a small forest, is the tomb of Count Kárroly Wecnkheim. Soon the granary will be visited by someone worthy of respect at the tomb as well.

Csorvás - Békés county Károly - majori granary building The Károly-major granary, although there is no written record of it, was probably built in the early 1880s according to the plans of Miklós Ybl, and its builder was Count Géza Wenckheim. It is currently out of use. Two kilometers from the granary is the only fully surviving Wenckheim castle, the Rudolf Major Castle, built by Count Matild Wenckheim between 1925 and 1928. The interesting thing about the granary is that its roof structure was made of one of the most valuable types of wood, red pine. It can accommodate 20 wagons of crops. The smaller building was built around 1920 as a dairy. From here, the former small railway started and transported the crop from the manor to the village. The horse chestnut tree between the two buildings is part of the former castle park. The owner of the major was Count Charles Wenckheim, whose tomb is located here in the park of the former castle, now surrounded by a small acacia forest.
