Zoltán Tóth is a martyr of the 1956 revolution and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, who died in October 1956 during the Kossuth Square massacre. He led a pre-announced negotiating delegation to Parliament to mediate the demands of the protesting students when they were almost killed by Soviet bullets at the front gate. The sculpture was erected in 2006 by Tamás Vígh (I assume he shaped the figure himself) and Tamás MArkolt, whom I think is the creator of the post-amnes. The material of the sculpture is granite.

Its size, material, and angular-curved mix are spectacular. Modern yet harmonious with its surroundings.
