★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I took a train from Budapest to Pecs in late October. Specifically to visit the village where her Mother had been born. In addition we wanted to purchase some porcelain . The village was beautiful. We had lunch and opposite the restaurant was the Zsolnay Markabolt Pecs. They have a great collection of porcelain for sale and the staff was very helpful. Consequently, we did purchase a quantity of Zsolnay pieces. I want to get in touch with this store again to purchase an addition piece for Christmas . Unfortunately, the telephone number listed does not get answered and do not have an email for this store.
I would highly recommend a more lengthy stay in Pecs to absorb the culture and people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Knowing Zsolnay is one of the two famous brands of procelain manufacturer in Hungary, I was a bit surprised that the sales person quickly wrapped my purchase in simple brown paper without any protection. Neither of the two ladies there spoke any English and I had to use very limited Hungarian to communicate.
