The Láng Machine Factory was one of the most important factories of the history of Hungarian industry in Budapest, the former “external Váczi út”, today XIII. district, Váci út in 152-156.. After the 1867 Compromise, the large-scale machinery industry in Hungary started to develop rapidly, creating favorable conditions for the production of machinery. In 1868 Pest, the former Váczi street (today: Bajcsy Zsilinszky út), graduated from an industrial school, László Láng founded a small machine repair shop. Five years later, after the initial successes and rising demand, the plant moved to exterior Váczi út (today Váci út 152-156) started to produce steam engines for fast-growing Hungarian factories. Developing domestic industry increasingly used this plant as a power plant, squeezing out its foreign competitors that had dominated the Hungarian market earlier. Flame recognized the importance of continuous technical development in time, and many inventions, including the right to manufacture a new valve valve from a Viennese engineer, ensured the long-term competitiveness of its steam engines. (Later, it was perfected on the basis of the patent of one of the engineers of the factory.) From the 1880s, it was shipped abroad, to the Balkan countries and to Russia, and its products were successful at international exhibitions. At the 1900 Paris World Expo, one of the factory's Ganz Generator's door steamers won a grand prize and gold medal. From 1891, the engineer Hans Hörbigerostras, the inventor of the Hörbiger plate valve, also worked at the factory. Since the machine factory did not support its invention, in 1900, Siemens & Halske opened its own office.
