You can always find something to do around lake Balaton. Going to the beach, hanging out in a castle, hiking, going to festivals or a wine tasting...etc.
Depending on which city you visit, there is many experiences to be had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I only passed by the national park and from what I've seen it gave me bitter sweet feeling. There are some parts quite nice but also some not so much. Some places in this area were very dirty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This area of Hungary is one of the most picturesque one. Nature is just partially touched by little villages, hills and valleys are alternating each other, and the air is fresh and mostly summer time the green is the dominating colour.
