On the positive side: the Schnitzel is huge and relatively inexpensive. I was super sad that the side dish, the potato salad is a cheap, ready bought potato salad from a store (after asking if it is home made, the cashier said it comes from "Vienna"). Absolutely unacceptable to sell store made products, for me this is more than a mistake and not at all professional hospitality. I simply cannot understand why people are so lazy and do not understand the importance of good taste and quality, fresh products. It seems like there is no more respect for the customer, never seen something like this from any "well known" chefs. Simply unbelievable. The Schnitzel itself was a decent piece for everyone who does not eat Schnitzel frequently or comes from a country where this is not a common dish. It had a sourish smack, I would guess it was not totally fresh but that would be not a big issue in Hungary anyway, still a kind of okay piece, even if not something really outstanding. It was hot enough, freshly baked in not too old oil however altogether a bit dry fro my taste. Not at all a pleasant surprise. I have to mention tho that I loved the breaded bone, a great idea and the size of the Schnitzel was way above average. Staff was more on the unfriendly side, the apple drink was unfortunately tasteless, served in a not really clean glass (I guess they have no dishwasher there). The owner is a good and funny guy (that's why I simply cannot give 1 or 2 stars), kind of famous in Hungary but this kind of disrespect with the cheap, store bought side dish and the unimpressive Schnitzel can destroy many things, simply makes me sad to experience this. It is not about the money because it is not expensive, simply the respect for the guest is missing. Kind of traveling back in time to the good old socialist era. For retro lovers it is at least a perfect place.

My friends and I forgot to eat schnitzel while we were in Germany but luckily we found this place while in Budapest! It was well worth it and the portion sizes are huge!

Probably the best schnitzel I have had in Budapest. Piece is the size of my forearm, and it comes with a delicious fried bone for nibbling on. $10 bucks isn't the cheapest schnitzel you will find, but it might be the best bang for your buck, and you won't be disappointed.

The breadcrumbs had a very salty and fishy taste. I had to remove it. I received my meat a minute before oil change, apparently it should be done more often. The meat inside was ok, though somewhat tough in a few places. I have no clue why a big piece of bone was fried as well, lucky me I didn't break my teeth! The potato salad was quite good, texure, temperature, and seasoning, too. Portion was rather small compared to the meat, though. The ladies behind the counter were working very quickly.

Cash only, so grab some at the ATM before you hoof it up here! It was worth the detour. The schnitzel and potato salad were both excellent. This place keeps it simple with three menu options and it's paying off.

Visited this place for the first time today and I was really satisfied with the taste and size of the food portions. Definitely worth trying! However, staff is kinda indifferent and I will give only 3 stars because payment is cash only! Come on, it's 2020!

As others have said, the pork schnitzel is huge, roughly the size of a keyboard. It is freshly deep fried on order placement, to ensure it is at its best when served. It's tender and delicious. The potato salad is cold and delicious as well. The fried pork ear is also very good, with sticky pork skin melting in your mouth. You get two pieces of ear with tartar sauce and potato salad. Overall we liked the schnitzel better but both should be tried if you have the stomach. They do help you put leftover in takeaway box if you can't finish. Highly recommended! In fact we tried three times to get in because it's been closed for 4 days during easter holidays. But it is well worth the effort!
