On October 6 and October 8 special events celebrate the rich geodiversity of the transnational Novohrad-Nograd UNESCO Global Geopark at its main gateway, the Ipolytarnoc Fossils Nature Reserve, managed by the Bükk National Park Directorate.

The event endorses the International Geodiversity Day initiative. The visitors can dive into the past from the Pannonian lake through a volcanic disaster to the Paratethys shallow sea full of with giant sharks at the Geosite of the Ipolytarnoc Fossils.

On October 6 (Geodiversity Day) at 10:45 AM at the Ancient Pine Visitor Center a guided tour starts leading through the exhibitions of the Time Spiral and the Geosites and one can touch the wall of the animated past.

On October 8 (Geotop Day) beside the same event, during the tours on the geological study trail the guides will explicitly mention the rich geodiversity of the geopark with nearby geosites worth to visit.

Érdemes itt megszállni, bulit csinálni! :) Very good place, also suitable for gatherings of friends / family. The yard, the area is very nice. It's worth staying here, having a party! :)

Malauradament, el personal al taulell d’informació no parla ni anglès ni alemany, i tots els panells informatius són únicament en hongarès. Una gran oportunitat perduda per aprendre sobre el món natural i uns ecosistemes meravellosos en un parc que d’altra banda tampoc té panells informatius ni rutes senyalitzades correctament com a d’altres llocs del món. Una llàstima. Vam anar per pujar al tren però sense saber hongarès i amb una manca d’informació tan gran, va ser impossible fer el viatge. It would be a very beautiful and informative place in the middle of nature surrounded by forest. Unfortunately, staff at the information desk does not speak English or German, and all information panels are only in Hungarian. A great lost opportunity to learn about the natural world and wonderful ecosystems in a park that does not have informative panels or signposted routes correctly as well as other parts of the world. A pity We went to the train but without knowing Hungarian and with a lack of such information, it was impossible to make the trip.

Orchidea túra a meghirdetettnél egy héttel hamarabb volt,ez rendben is lett volna,a virágnak megtiltani nem lehet hogy hamarabb nyíljon,de ez egy héttel később sem volt jelezve.Odamentünk hiába.? Nice place but communicating information is not their strength. Orchid tour was a week earlier than announced, it would have been okay, the flower could not be banned to open sooner, but it was not indicated a week later.We went in vain.?

Egy élmény volt a gyerekeknek. :) It presents the beauty and values of the Beech in a beautiful environment. School groups welcome in advance. It was an experience for the kids. :)

Talán mások is kedvet kapnak egy tóparti kirándulásra és az ott található Látogatóközpont kiállításainak megtekintésére. A Felsőtárkányi tó a mesterségesen jött létre, a Szikla-forrás vizét duzzasztották tóvá. A tó környéke festői szépségű és kedvelt pihenőhely. Számos túraútvonal indul innen, amelyek a Bükk legszebb részeire vezetnek, a tanösvényeken pedig az erdő állat és növényvilága ismerhető meg. A kiállítás két nagyobb termében - az évszakok váltakozását bemutató diorámákat követve - feltárulnak előttünk a Bükk hegység geológiai, zoológiai és botanikai értékei. A kiállítórész bepillantást nyújt a bükki őserdő, s a Nagy-mező egy kis szegletébe, egy patak menti élővilág, valamint sziklai és erdei élőhelyekbe is. A kiállítás része a pincében kialakított ősemberbarlang, amely a Bükk ősrégészeti lelőhelyeit szimbolizálja. A dombortérkép lámpái a Bükk kultúrtörténeti, geológiai, turisztikai látnivalóit, tanösvényeit villantják fel. Early Spring - 2017 - I would like to share the experiences of our trip to Upper Carniola. Perhaps others will enjoy a lakeside excursion and exhibitions at the Visitor Center. The Lake Felsőtárkány was created artificially, the water of the Rock Spring was swelled into a lake. The lake surrounding picturesque and popular rest stop. There are many hiking trails that lead to the most beautiful parts of the Bükk Mountains, and the nature trails on the nature trails. The geographic, zoological and botanical values of the Bükk Mountains are revealed before us in the two larger halls of the exhibition, following dioramas showing the alternation of the seasons. The exhibition area offers a glimpse of the Bükk primeval forest and a small corner of the Great Field, a creek wildlife, and rock and forest habitats. Part of the exhibition is the cavernous cavern, which symbolizes the archeological sites of the Bükk Mountains. The lights on the relief map highlight the cultural, geological, tourist attractions and nature trails of the Bükk Mountains.
Á	Ágnes Fehér on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A járvány miatt a kiállításra nem lehetett bemenni (régebben jártam itt, szép kiállítás van), de előtte a Felsőtárkányi-tó körüli geológiai tanösvény a kőzeteket mutatja be, kellemes pihenőhely büfével. Innen indul több tanösvény és túristaút. Due to the epidemic, it was not possible to enter the exhibition (I used to be here before, there is a nice exhibition), but in front of it the geological study trail around Lake Felsőtárkány shows the rocks, with a pleasant rest buffet. From here, several educational trails and hiking trails start.

Felnőttek és gyerekek számára is hasznos kiállítás egy hangulatos tó partján. Igaz nagyobb csoport számára szűk lehet. I got more than I thought. A well-edited, well-thought-out exhibition with interactive elements. An exhibition on the shores of a charming lake is also useful for adults and children. It may be narrow for a larger group.
