Treat yourself to the cheese plate or the ham plate for a warm up but be sure to save room for dessert and coffee.
M	Mike on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best desserts in Hungary. They are definitely "home-style". So while they may not look very pretty, the taste is unmatched. Also they are not too sweet. You can have 2 full servings and still not feel ill. The apple pie with vanilla ice cream is wonderful (get 2 scoops of ice cream). It is probably twice as big as at other confectioneries. I also tried the caramel bomb with raspberries. It was unbelievably good and not overly sugary. Edit: They are the antithesis of most Hungarian confectionaries. Here you will not find bad, overly sugary desserts covered in a layer of gelatin in an attempt to make it look good. Instead you will find the most delicious desserts in Hungary.

Absolutely a signature spot in Balatonfured - the best place for incredible cakes and other sweet creations with a great location, by the water, offering breakfast from 9am. Their lovely, sunny terrace is turned into a cosy winter patio with heaters and blankets for the chilly season and during summer there are evenings with live music, too. The quality and the portions of the in-house made goodies based on traditional recipes are out of this world and no matter when I go back over the years I know surely I get the same taste and service. Their cake menu is so extensive, I still haven't tried all of them as I always want to have my favorites, too. I would definitely work on their wine menu and barista skills but as long as they have such amazing incredible fantastic desserts, I don't really care about the drinks:) Can't wait to go back again!

I have eaten in dozens of Hungarian cukrászda during my year here, and this one is definitely my favorite and by far. It's just perfect! The most difficult part is : which cake will I choose ;) I tried 6 or 7 cakes there, walnut, sour cherry, lemon, peach, túró, walnut again, apricot... Each one of them was perfect! It's a must try! ?

Karolina is located in the harbour in Balatonfüred, which is an ideal location to grab some light snacks when in the area. Staff are ever so polite, knowledgeable and friendly - nothing is too much trouble for them. They always manage to exceed customer expectations, and take guest experience to another level. When outside, if they see that you are cold, they bring you a blanket, and come and turn the outside heating on without you having to ask for it. It is such a pleasure to see hospitality venues in Hungary operating with such high standards and attention to detail. No wonder why we are happy to travel from Budapest, just to have a hot drink and a slice of cake here.
