One of the special sights of Veszprém Castle Street is the castle fountain in front of the Gizella Chapel, next to the Holy Trinity Statue. Unfortunately, its exact construction time is unknown, but it is sometime around the end of the 16th century. The former depth of Veszprém Fountain was 26 meters, today it is estimated to be 40.7 meters. The fountain rim reads: CIVITAS UBI OLIM FONTES CULTURAE GENTIS HUNGARORUM ERUBERANT "This is the city that once had the richest sources of Hungarian national culture."

One of the highlights of the Vár street in Veszprém is the castle well in front of the Gizella Chapel. The exact date of its construction is unknown; century. The first written record of it dates from 1569. The depth of the protected building is estimated at more than 40 meters. Our first data is a floor plan of the castle of Veszprém from 1569, where a circle marks the well. After Henrik Tumler managed to bring the water of the manor well in Séd to the castle with a mental solution in 1767, from then on the castle well was abandoned, used for a while as a clarifier, so it was recharged. That's why it was inscribed as a tank. The coffee of the castle well was renovated in 1938 and its cover stone was placed at that time, which has the Latin meaning: “This is the city where the richest sources of Hungarian national culture once originated”, and then they also paid tribute to the memory of Bishop Albert Vetési. As early as 1964/65, the György Frastya began the excavation of the dilapidated castle well. With the rudimentary means, the well was then excavated from 24 meters to 30 meters. Following this history, with the active support of 80 organizations and hundreds of individuals, the actual excavation of the castle well began on May 22, 2002. The excavation was carried out by eight cavers and climbers in the morning and in the afternoon, under the guidance of Zsolt Schäfer, President of the Association of Bakony Cave Research Associations. This is how the 40.7-meter-deep, 1.4-meter-diameter karst water spring in Veszprém was the only one in the country that has been illuminated ever since.
