★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1974. augusztus 19-én avatták fel Újpalota főterén (ami akkor még nem volt Fő tér) Varga Miklós miskolci szobrászművész Centenáriumi (Jubileumi) emlékművét. A kompozíció ma is áll, bár egyre rosszabb állapotban van, pedig legalább annyira jellegzetes szimbóluma ennek a lakótelepnek, mint a Víztoronyház. Nagyobb megbecsülést érdemelne.
 On August 19, 1974, the centenary (Jubilee) monument of the sculptor Miklós Varga from Miskolc was inaugurated on the main square of Újpalota (which was not yet the Main Square). The composition still stands today, although it is in a worse condition, yet at least as characteristic of this housing estate as the Water Tower House. It deserves more respect.
