Edit: I recently called them and learned that the bookstore is now open but only for a limited hours everyday. I believe between 12 and 2. Best to call before you visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stumbled across this place on my way to Buda Castle. This is a fantastic second-hand shop; one room with books on shelves floor to ceiling.
Don't go in expecting an itemized inventory. The books are sorted by subject and somewhat by history, but beyond that you're on your own. The owner honestly doesn't mind if you spend an hour (or more) rummaging through the shelves to see what strikes your fancy. He has a limited number of first editions but mostly it's older books collected over the years. If you're into older books and more obscure first-hand sources, I can't recommend this place highly enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dani`s shop has old-world charm and a wide variety of books, old and new. If you are a fan of second-hand bookstores, this is one you must visit while in Budapest. If you have already-read books to trade, even better. Back on the street, take in the castle with your new literary treasure in hand and find a quiet place to enjoy it.
