The National Flag Monument is a 33-meter-high flagpole with an 18-square-meter flag, adorned with symbols of the Sun and Moon at the waist, and 33 flags. All this is located on a 7 meter high kunhalm, to which four steps will lead from the four equator. The memorial site was built on the occasion of Diósd's 1000 years of existence, in memory of Árpádház, on the 90th anniversary of the Trianon peace dictatorship, at the will of Diósd's representative body, based on the plans of Imre Makovecz DLA, Kossuth Prize-winning architect Date of inauguration: 13.06.2010 - Pest county, Diósd, Árpád-házi Szent Erzsébet utca and Vadrózsa út corner, near the MO.

Monumental work with several steep stairs. Maybe at least one could have been made safer by a limit.

Interestingly, in addition to the pounding MO, the place even has some good radiance to the place.

It is a large free space, and the Hungarian flag is torn but not stretched over it.

This is how we saw the national flag of Diósd in May 2022. The flag was not waving, there was complete silence. Having seen it, I guessed that Imre Makovecz could be the designer ... As it turned out, it really was him. The ancient Hungarian symbols, the forms, the monumentality, the use of kunhalom are all reminiscent of his art ... There is no barrier to any of the four steps leading up to the high kunhalom from the four equator, the concrete elements of the staircase have already moved in some places, the grass on the slope is a bit incomplete, but the effect of the 33-meter work on the 7-meter kunhal is impressive. I searched the site for an information board, but I couldn't find it. On the other hand, the national flag foundation fb. On the side of the inauguration pictures I saw a beautiful information board about the work, then posted. One like this would be very good to be placed on site. I read here that this foundation was established for the realization of the national flag of Diósd, and the work was realized with the participation of the architect Balázs Dárdai, the creator of Imre Makovecz (1935-2011), the creator of organic architecture.
