Ez az emlékmű egy zászlótartó rúdból áll egy kőből faragott díszes talapzaton. Sajnos zászló nincs rajta. A tartópillér a kocka alakú kőtalapzatba van ágyazva, melynek három oldalán díszes faragás áll; az egyiken Szűz Mária a magyar szent koronával a fején, kezében a kis Jézussal, neki a kezében országalma, ők 2 pálma között vannak; a másik oldalon a magyar címer (Kossuth címer?); a harmadikon egy oroszlán, egyik mancsában egy inga, másikban egy korona; a negyedikben pedig egy pajzs alakú faragás, erre vannak felvésve, hogy kik játszottak szerepet a Szabadság Zászló elkészültében. Én leginkább a zászlót hiányolom róla, hogy miért nincs felhúzva rajta egy. A népkerti országzászló emlékhelynél fel van húzva a tartópillérre a zászló. Maga a diósgyőri emlékhely is eléggé el van hanyagolva, (egy db. koszorút láttam mellé letéve), a bele vésett betűk-ahogy néztem régebbi fotókon-még fekete színű festékkel voltak befestve, most már ez szinte teljesen kikopott, a régi fotóról tudtam csak elolvasni, hogy pontosan mi is volt felvésre rá.

This monument consists of a flagpole on a stone carved pedestal. Unfortunately, no flag is on it. The support pillar is embedded in a cube-shaped stone base with three ornate carvings; one of them is the Virgin Mary with the holy crown of Hungary on her head, with the little Jesus in her hand, her land in her hand, they are between 2 palms; on the other side is the Hungarian coat of arms (coat of arms of Kossuth?); the third is a lion, a paw in one paw, and a crown in another; and the fourth is a shield-shaped carving, which has been picked up by those who played a role in the completion of the Freedom Flag. I miss the flag most of all why there is no one on it. The flag is drawn to the support pillar at the folk country flag memorial site. The Diósgyőr Memorial Place itself is quite neglected, (I saw a wreath placed next to it), the engraved letters — as I looked at older photographs — were painted with black paint, now it's almost completely worn out, I could only read the old photo what exactly was recorded on it.
