Oldalában számos sírkő található görög eredetű nevekkel, tehát az elnevezése ellenére főként a görög kereskedőknek köszönhette felépülését. Már a 19.század vége óta használaton kívül van. 2000-ben a templomot kívülről felújították. A belső felújítása is folyamatban van. The Serbian church in Dunaföldvár was built in 1787, its iconostasis dates from 1801. There are a number of tombstones on its side with names of Greek origin, so despite its name, it may have owed mainly its recovery to Greek merchants. It has been out of use since the end of the 19th century. In 2000, the church was renovated from the outside. The interior is also being renovated.

Садашњи храм је подигнут 1787. године у барокном маниру, са елементима неокласицизма. Ктитори иконостаса су били Цинцари, па су натписи на иконама исписани на грчком језику. Нови иконостас је осликао бечки ђак иконописац Павел Ђурковић 1801. године, и то је био његов први већи рад The Serbian Orthodox Church dedicated to the feast of the Descent of St. Spirit, was built by the local Serbs in the 17th century. The present temple was built in 1787 in the Baroque style, with elements of neoclassicism. The founders of the iconostasis were Cincari, so the inscriptions on the icons were written in Greek. The new iconostasis was painted by the Viennese student icon painter Pavel Đurković in 1801, and this was his first major work.
