A 17. század végén az Ebergényi család volt a birtokosa, majd rokonság révén átkerült a Széchenyi család kezébe. Egyházasfalun lassan a feledés homályába vész egy történelmi család szálláshelye, a XIX. század elejéről való Ebergényi-kúria. Akadt, aki még sosem hallott róla; volt, ki a varrodánál jelölte meg a főúri lakot, míg az egyik helybéli szerint azt már régen lebontották. Végül Varga Imre Győrben élő főesperestol tudjuk – aki három évtizedig volt plébánosa a falunak –, hogy az egykori Kalot-népfőiskola napjainkban üresen álló épülete fuződik az Ebergényiék nevéhez.
