Ugyanakkor az impozáns épület emlékeztet a térségben egykor meghatározó szénbányászat hőskorára is. The 33-meter-high reinforced concrete structure in the district of Meszes has been supplying the nearby residential area with drinking water since 1926, and is still a reliable part of Pécs' water network. At the same time, the imposing building is reminiscent of the heroic age of coal mining, once dominant in the area.
A	Anikó Balázs on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gyönyörű építmény. Évekkel ezelőtt én tettem egy javaslatot a városnak, hogy világítsák ki, mint ahogy ez régebben is volt. Nem biztos, hogy rám hallgattak :), mindenesetre most szerencsére ki van világítva, ami csodás látvány. Jó lenne, ha néha - tematikus séták, programok keretében - be lehetne menni megnézni, fotózni belülről is. Beautiful edifice. Years ago, I made a proposal to the city to light it up, as it used to be. I'm not sure they were listening to me :), anyway, luckily it's lit up, which is a wonderful sight. It would be good if sometimes - as part of thematic walks and programs - you could go inside and take photos from the inside.
