If we take our way to Samson's house, sooner or later we will stumble upon a local who, willingly or unwillingly, proudly tells us, indeed this village, this "house", belonged to the partisan, partisan Mr. Samson, who was not afraid to defy the king. According to legend, after King Béla II (Blind) killed nobles who could be blamed for his childhood blindness and exile in Arad, Mr. Samson became a member of the openly anti-royal party and supported the claimant Boris. In July 1132, on the eve of the decisive battle, Samson rode into the king's camp, astonished at this arrogance, straight into the ruler's tent, where he addressed some unsolicited sentences to Bela II: "What are you doing with the country, vile eb ?! You would leave the kingdom to Boric and live in the monastery, just as your father lived there! " -. The fugitive, Samson, who had just crossed the Sajó, was caught by the man of Ispán Bod and stabbed in the back with a spear. The wounded Samson turned off his horse, and as his heavy armor pulled him down, he died an ugly death in the foam of Sajó ... If the castle ruins above the settlement were not owned by this Pökhendi lord, they could have belonged to a certain Samson. The excavating excavations took place in Fejérkő Castle for two years, the financial basis of which was created by the Nógrád County Regional Development Fund, the Sámsonháza Local Government Office and the Sámsonvár-Getting to Know Our Past Foundation. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm that lasted for a couple of years subsided and he began to take possession of the vegetation and mowing the walls again.

There is only a small piece of wall left of the castle, but the view is very nice.

Very super place. There is a rest area and a whole family can sit down to eat. It is easy to reach with children, although I recommend the blue sign from the village. There is a more exciting ride on the other side that the bigger ones will enjoy better.

Leaving Sámsonháza towards Nagybárkány, I left the car in the foreground of the first agricultural service road to the right, and from there approx. 2km walk to the castle itself. I didn't see any signs, but I didn't need it. The road takes you there, you have to keep right. It is worth stopping and enjoying the view in front of us. There is an information board in the foreground of the fort, which deals with the objects found during the archeological excavation, as well as its history. There is also a wooden table and two benches where you can relax and eat. Unfortunately, the castle only has fragments of walls, the weeds completely in it. This is why it is recommended to visit in autumn or milder winter, because you can see more of the fabulous panorama and also the ruins. His past will be obscured, as will his future, and a preservation would be enough so that posterity can admire this gem of our history.

The ruins can be approached in a very romantic way. There is not much left of it, but rather for the view and the joy of discovery, it is worth visiting when we are in the area. It is worth stopping at the andesite wall in Sámsonháza. It is also very interesting, coming back a bit, the blue sign keeps going up for about 15 minutes walk, the end is steep the signs are incomplete. Crossing the hilltop on the top of the hill, keep left, the blue sign will be out here again later. She has to be careful because she is very grown up. Bon courage!
