The largest thermal lake in Europe with a depth of 38 m. The water in the lake is in constant motion. The warm water from the cave at the bottom of the lake rises to the surface, while the cooled water from the surface sinks to the bottom. In addition, due to the oval shape of the lake, the entire body of water slowly turns to the right, containing cations of potassium, sodium, ammonia, calcium and magnesium, anions of fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, sulfur, bicarbonate and sulfate anions and organic compounds. Due to the presence of radon, it is slightly radioactive (about 0.22-0.28 mCi / l [1]). Admission for children is therefore suitable for a maximum of 3 hours. If you swim in the middle of the lake, there is a cave below you at a depth of about 40 m, through two gates 60x80 cm, connected by a short descending corridor, you get to a wooden plate leading to the cave, where there are several hot springs of different temperatures. After mixing, the water temperature is around 38 ° C. There is almost absolute visibility in the cave. The water is hardened only by descending blooms of sulfur or calcium compounds, descending from the ceiling to the ground. Diving here only with local guides, diving is directed by György Kovács. Unfortunately, he does not speak English, only German. We had children with us, so there was no danger of diving, we all fell in love with the lake, the elderly swam it with me several times and the little one learned to flow beautifully here. I'm already looking forward to coming back :-)

Pleasant bath, not only for those who want to recover. The lake is deep water, so everyone comes with a floating facility. But it's not a problem if you don't have one, you can also get floats inside. So in winter, in the early spring, only those who want to recover swim in the now 26-degree water.
